About Emily Dewberry
Emily Dewberry came to law after a career as a professional contemporary dancer. She was drawn to law as a means to make a direct positive contribution to the broader community.
Emily is driven by excellence and a commitment to creating new paths to better results.
She has developed her unique skill set through various roles within the law.
Emily worked as a lawyer in private practice for many years, where she specialised in insurance and commercial litigation for large national and international clients. In this role, Emily was responsible for all aspects of the litigation process including strategy and negotiations. Emily then moved into an in-house claims role where she worked closely with underwriters, brokers, clients and external counsel in managing risk profiles and litigation across all Australian jurisdictions.
Having experienced mediations from the role of the client, Emily discovered that she had unique insight into what was missing from the mediation landscape. And because Emily believes that if you want to see change, you need to instigate it… she did.
Emily is often invited to speak on topics including negotiation, client engagement and the importance of self awareness in mediations.
